A B O U T    M E

Hi there!

My name is Christine Tran. I am from Irvine, California and I am currently finishing my last semester at Biola University. I will finish with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and two minors in Christian Ministries as well as Biblical Studies.

After graduation, I plan on achieving my nursing license and applying for a New Grad Nurse Residency Program. My strengths include strong communicative abilities, adaptability, and the ability to empathize with others. I plan on using these abilities within nursing in order to love and care for patients through connecting and relating to patients.

As a Christian nurse, my faith and perspective on nursing is to care for patients holistically. Patients have needs that go beyond just the physical aspect, and includes mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. In the clinical setting, nurses are taking care of patients 24 hours of the day around the clock, and spend the most time with patients over any other medical personnel. Therefore, nurses may have more opportunities to spend with patients and connect with them on a deeper level.

My time through Biola’s rigorous nursing program has taught me perseverance and to lean on my faith at all times, especially through rough ones. My clinical experience has brought me through difficult rotations ranging from caring for patients managing mental illness to patients diagnosed with a brain tumor. These experiences have shaped me as a person, teaching me that patients are beyond their diagnosis and are not simply a room number. Each patient has a story, along with desires, wants, and needs. I hope to one day open a clinic that ministers towards the homeless in order to minister to those who may not have access to healthcare.
